Ingel Vaikla at NARVA ART RESIDENCY in Estonian-Russian border city

Ingel Vaikla will work for two weeks at Estonian-Russian bordercity Narva on her upcoming documentary film and solo exhibition.

The Narva Art Residency is located in the Kreenholm neighbourhood at 18 Joala Street. This historicist style villa was built in the late 19th century as the residence for Kreenholm’s technical director John Carr. After the Second World War, when the war-damaged building was reconstructed, it was home to a cultural centre and library. The newly created Art Residency will combine all of the functions that the house has ever had ― it will simultaneously be a residence, cultural centre and educational institution.
